On September 8, 2017, the founder of Tomorrow Foundation, Ms. Gu, was received by Mr. Xavier Emmanuelli, one of the co-founders of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctor Without Borders) to exchange opinions on the roles of emerging foundations in international development.
During the talk, Ms. Gu explained the philosophy, objectives and operations of Tomorrow Foundation, and discussed the current opportunities as well as difficulties the foundation faces in promoting international development. Mr. Emmanuelli expressed his appreciation of Ms. Gu’s sincerity and commitment to humanitarian affairs, and his interests to keep tracking the progress of the foundation

Médecins Sans Frontières is one of the largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations that specialize in providing free or affordable medical services to people in developing countries. The organization was founded in 1971, as a result of the Biafran War, in which its co-founders had sought to expand people’s accessibility to medical care across national boundaries and irrespective of race, religion and political belief. For the subsequent thirty years, the foundation had developed its operational sections all over the world, including most countries in Europe and North America, and assisted millions of people suffering from health issues in the crisis, such as the Lebanese Civil War between 1976 and 1984, the famine in Ethiopia in1985, and the outbreak of cholera and AIDS in Serra Leone in the 1990s. In 1999, the organization was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its active participation in the provision of humanitarian assistance in the least developed and worn-torn areas. Currently, Médecins Sans Frontières has operations in 71 countries, some of which are highly insecure.
