17th edition of the Young Entrepreneurship Celebration for MENA region by INJAZ Al-Arab

February 2024 Doha, Qatar

Following the invitation from Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, Tomorrow Foundation was delighted to attend the 17th edition of the Young Entrepreneurship Celebration at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl in Doha. The event was organized by INJAZ Al-Arab, a member of JA Worldwide, and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Qatar.

Eighty-eight students from the 13 MENA countries covered by INJAZ Al-Arab competed at high school and university levels for the title of Company of the Year following six months of intense entrepreneurship learning. For the first time, the competition also included a special competition day with teams where students from all the countries were mixed and worked together to win specific awards. Despite the cultural, language, and timing challenges, the students successfully cooperated and proposed creative solutions.

It was an exciting moment to see all Arabic countries reunited to celebrate youth and business ideas. The 1st Prize for the University level was won by the Supclay team from Tunisia with their sustainable clay cement, while at the High-School level, team Waref from Oman won with their mosquito repellent that also works as a perfume. In addition to our Foundation, Switzerland was also represented with the Nestle Sustainability Award, recognizing the recycling of used consumer goods and sustainable practices.

H.E. Sheikha Hanadi Al Thani, the Chairperson of INJAZ Al Arab and Injaz Qatar, reminded during her speech the progress of INJAZ after 20 years of existence, covering 13 countries, training over 6 million students, and many of them having set up their own businesses and succeeded. The event also gave the opportunity to Akef Aqrabawi, President & CEO of INJAZ Al-Arab, and Asheesh Advani, CEO of JA Worldwide, to praise ambition, creativity, and talent in the region.

During the event, our representative was impressed by the quality of the organization and appreciated the interesting exchanges with guests, sponsors, and especially INJAZ regional and local staff. This experience will enrich our mutual vision and is very promising for new possibilities of cooperation in the future.
