November 2025 Washington, USA

Tomorrow Foundation proudly announces the attendance of its President and Chairwoman, Ms. Maggie Gu, at the United Nations 80th Anniversary Gala, hosted at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. The prestigious event brought together international leaders, ambassadors, diplomats, philanthropists, and cultural figures to celebrate eight decades of the UN’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and human progress. Sponsored by CNN, the event also featured UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Mary Maker, who delivered an inspiring speech about her experience as a South Sudanese refugee and her life in refugee camps.

The gala honored philanthropist and artist Daphna Edwards Ziman, founder of Justice for Women International, with with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her global advocacy work. It also celebrated her joint advocacy with Grammy Award-winning producer Mally Mall (Jamal Rashid) against human trafficking and cultural exploitation. Ms. Ziman’s moving performance of her single “Humanity!”, produced by Mally Mall and Paul Oakenfold, received a standing ovation for its message of compassion and empowerment.

Ms. Gu’s participation in the event underscored the Tomorrow Foundation’s shared mission with global humanitarian partners — promoting education, equality, and sustainable innovation as drivers of peace and inclusion. Speaking on the sidelines of the gala, Ms. Gu emphasized the importance of international cooperation and technological empowerment in shaping a more equitable future:

“The challenges facing humanity — from inequality to digital transformation — require not only compassion but collaboration. The future must be built on shared knowledge, education, and purpose.”

The Tomorrow Foundation and Justice for Women International have long shared complementary missions, focusing respectively on education, innovation, and women’s empowerment. Ms. Gu’s presence at the gala highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to aligning its initiatives — such as Her Start-Up  — with broader global efforts to protect and uplift vulnerable communities.

The United Nations 80th Anniversary Gala was supported by leading global organizations, including Accenture, and featured remarks by Dr. Aaron Poynton, Founder & CEO of Omnipoynt Solutions, who reflected on the importance of innovation and accountability in global cooperation.

As the evening concluded, participants reaffirmed a shared vision: a world where technology, culture, and human compassion come together to ensure that no one is left behind.
