May 2025 Geneva, Switzerland
For the third consecutive year, Tomorrow Foundation proudly partnered with the African Students Association at the Geneva Graduate Institute to support the African Summit — an event that continues to shape discourse on the continent’s future. Held under the theme “Africa at the Heart of a Changing World”, the 2025 edition brought together leaders, students, experts, and innovators at Maison de la Paix to explore Africa’s evolving role in the global order.
Our involvement in this Summit is more than symbolic. It is rooted in our belief that Africa's future must be defined through partnership, not dependency — through innovation, not limitation. As highlighted by our Chairwoman in her opening remarks, the Tomorrow Foundation’s mission is "to give space to civil society and innovation," enabling youth and entrepreneurs to become tomorrow’s changemakers.
A Platform for Action
The Summit provided a vital platform for dialogue on development challenges and opportunities — from governance and digital transformation to climate resilience and youth leadership. Tomorrow Foundation’s work was cited as a practical model of how partnerships can catalyze sustainable change:
"Africa’s digital and industrial future must be built not on charity but on collaboration."
A Call for Collective Responsibility
In today’s fragmented geopolitical environment, the Summit reinforced the importance of shared action. Our Chairwoman called for a global coalition — a united front of governments, civil society, businesses, and philanthropic actors — to drive sustainable, inclusive development.
"Let’s come together not under banners or bureaucracies, but under a shared belief in human potential."
Technology Leapfrog: Africa’s Opportunity
During the innovation panel, Yomi Achille — CEO and Co-Founder of ScenarioX, a Swiss start-up pioneering AI-quantum analytics for financial institutions — emphasized the urgent need for Africa to develop its own digital infrastructure, tools, and data systems. He also addressed the continent’s persistent funding challenges, advocating for alternative financing models that reduce dependency on external funding such as natural resource revenues and debt issuance.
Dr. Aminata Garba reinforced this perspective, stressing the critical importance of improving both the accessibility and affordability of internet connectivity across Africa — a prerequisite for any meaningful digital transformation.
Looking Ahead
Tomorrow Foundation remains committed to building ecosystems of opportunity and trust across the continent. As the global order shifts, our role is clear: to support African-led solutions that blend innovation, equity, and resilience.
We thank the African Students Association of IHEID for their vision and tireless organization of this Summit. And to all participants — your insights, voices, and courage inspire us to keep pushing boundaries.
Together, we are building the Africa of tomorrow.
